Very relaxing, lots of activities. I enjoyed playing bingo at the pool. Food was pretty good too! It was like being at the beach. Enjoyed the white sand. Friendly staff and the guests were very friendly. Rooms decorated very pretty. Nice for families and couples.
I was billed twice for my room the night we checked in and was never given an explanation as to why. It almost ruined my vacation when I looked at my account online the next day and saw two debits, one for the amount of my room which was about $1100 and another one for about $1150! However, the staff was very apologetic and not sure what happened. I had to call my bank and let them talk to the hotel manager in order to get the amount credited back.
Perfect location to see the beaches and downtown Charleston. The water taxi to downtown was easy and fun. Great views of York Town and the Cooper River Bridge.
I was specific in wanting a pool side room. Turns out we booked a regular room and the hotel upgraded us to a balcony room because we paid too much. The staff at the front desk should have offered an upgrade at check in. There were rooms available and we would have gladly paid the difference.
My visit to the Harbor Resort began with a delightful entryway that led into "extravagance." After an extremely quick and pleasant check-in, I made my way to my room. I opened the door to my room and to my absolute surprise, I immediately laid eyes on one of the most beautiful and picturesque views I have seen. Directly across the room was my balcony that laid ocean side. The sun was beginning to set at that moment and as I opened my balcony doors to take in the scenic views, I heard the live band that was playing 80's and 90's rock-n-roll. The summation of this moment set the mood for the remainder of a delightful night at the Harbor!....excellent job, staff!
The only down-side was the price of the room. Although the views, scenery, and music made up for most of the price, I still thought the $350 for one night was a bit too much.
I took my parents and the rooms were small but completely comfortable. The view was good, but it would have been nice if a brealfast was included. Being so close to Charleston, it was conveinent.
It was a little small for four people, the fan in the bathroom didn't work.
The resort is absolutely beautiful, overlooking the marina creates the perfect relaxed getaway. The rooms are small, but design and attention to design and detail is superb.
Breakfast buffet needs attention to food quality and overpriced. Guest should have low cost options for selecting only danish and coffee.
I liked the shuttle service, it was included with the resort fees.
I did not like that at check in I was questioned on how my room was booked, showed my reservation confirmation sheet that I printed out, and was told that for $45 more per night that I could have a view of the marina, I declined, and was told for $30 more per night, I could have a view of the bridge, I declined. When we got to the room, room 241, the view from my window was the hotels trash dumpters and storage for outside heaters, not to mention that my room was right beside the employees lounge that was a constant banging of the door. I will not stay at this hotel again. They charge a resort fee, accomodation fee, state and local taxes, and no breakfast. This hotel put a bad taste on my entire vaction of 10days.
Location was good and nice grounds.
Room was very small for the price. Was upgraded to "harbor view" but could barely make out top of a couple of sailboats...so not a harbor view. Elevators not working for part of stay. Breakfast just "ok". Was buffet only and I would have preferred menu options.
Had a great view from our room and the hotel had its own private pier in the harbour. The resort is secluded and makes you fell like you are all by yourself in a relaxed atmosphere.
The food at the restaurant was below average and had a limited menu. Would not eat at the resort on our next trip there.
The staff was very friendly, they upgraded us to a king suite for free and it was wonderfull. We had a balcony that looked over the harbor and marina it was beautiful! There was alot to do at the marina and the nature trail. I will go back!
They did have a couple weddings and a concert there and there were no parking spaces for the hotel guests. I think they need a parking lot for registered guests only and the wedding partys should have to park in the dirt parking lot.
Location was beautiful with a nice view of the harbour. Was convenient to downtown Charleston with a short drive. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
We were locked out of our room the last evening and morning of our stay. This was an inconvenience since we could not leave the room unattended for any period of time.
location was good, scenery was good.
the room was small for the price we paid, only one chair in the room so if someone was in the chair the other person had to lay in the bed. the bathroom was small and cramped.
Charleston Race Week - great location for event.
Great location with views of Charleston right across the bay.Offers water taxi and trolley to Charleston. It is close to many golf courses, great shopping and fabulous food.We chose this from internet site because it was affordable for a last minuete trip and we were pleasantly surprised. We will stay here again.
Easy to visit downtown Charleston with the hotel provided trolley
Bathrooms are dated and could use a decorating facelift
Location was great Trolley to downtown was convient
Pool bar service was not very good Rooms could use some updating but were ok
